Participation in the Research Society on School Toilets

Clean Water and Sanitation
We support and strengthen community participation in improving water and sanitation management.

What is
the Research Society on School Toilets?
The Research Society on School Toilets was established in 1996
by a group of toilet-related companies who came together with a shared desire to improve the poor
conditions of school toilets-often referrred to as the breeding grounds of the “5Ks” in Japan:
Kusai (smelly), Kitanai (dirty), Kowai (scary), Kurai (dark), and Kowareteiru (broken).
This association engages in research and educational activities based on three core pillars: “Listening to voices from the school”, “Scientifically examining hygiene”, and “Pursuing universal design”
Through these efforts, we aim to propose and promote clean, comfortable toilets that are considerate of the needs and feelings of children and other users.
Miccheal Chemical’s Initiative
As a manufacturer of professional detergent, disinfectants, hand soaps, and alcohol sanitizers, we contribute our expertise to help improve school toilet environment.
